Black Stars Miss Asamoah Gyan – Laryea Kingston

Former Ghanaian International Laryea Kingston has observed that the Ghanaian National team, Black Stars are in dire need of former captain, Asamoah Gyan.

His comments are in light of the Black Stars’ disappointing 1:0 African Cup of Nations opening match loss to North African side, Morocco.

The team found it difficult to connect with its front four with their attackers being left isolated, resulting in their first shot on target coming in the 70th in a game where chances were far and inbetween.

Presenting his analysis on the match, Laryea Kingston observed that the team is lacking players such former captain Asamoah Gyan, who can live with few chances as he is both clinical and good in his movement to create space for his teammates to run into

“We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan in the national team. And this is what the national team needs,” he said on Metro TV.

“We need a fox striker; a striker that is always around the box and has that killer instinct. We don’t have that currently. We miss someone like Asamoah Gyan, he has done a lot.”
