Darya Dugina, daughter of the spiritual leader who blessed Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, has been killed in a car blast.
Darya Dugina died at the scene of the explosion in Moscow. Authorities in Russia say an investigation into the Incidence has begun to ascertain what happened. Dugina is the daughter of ultra-nationalist philosopher and influencer Alexander Dugin. According to the Committee investigating the issue, available evidence has revealed that the attack was planned and coordinated. “Taking into account the data already obtained, the investigation believes that the crime was pre-planned and was of an ordered nature,” the investigative Committee said in a statement Sunday.
A friend of the deceased told the official Russian state news agency TASS that he believed the spiritual leader himself was the target and not his daughter. Alexander Dugin is known to be a close ally of Vladimir Putin. He’s credited for being the architect or “spiritual guide” to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with some even calling him ‘Putin’s Brain’.
“It’s her father’s car,” Krasnov told TASS. Dasha (Darya) drives another car, but she drove his car today, and Alexander went separately. She turned onto the Mozhaiskoye highway near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemi, there was an explosion, the car caught fire immediately. The flames completely engulfed it. She lost control because she was driving at high speed and flew to the opposite side of the road,” Andrei Krasnov, head of the Russky Gorizont (Russian Horizon) social movement and a personal acquaintance of Dugina’s narrated what had transpired.
