The Governing New Patriotic Party has denied claims that it has shorthanded some privileges of former President John Dramani Mahama.
The Director-General of communications of the NPP, Richard Ahiagbah, stated that President Mahama was not candid with the facts he presented during an interview with TV3. He further explained that the former President sort to deliberately twist the facts to tarnish the image of the ruling government while at the same time trying to win public sympathy in a malicious manner.
Mr Richard Ahiagbah further noted that the government had provided every privilege deemed the former President Mahama. Richard Ahiagbah was speaking at a press conference at the NPP national office, where he encouraged Ghanaians to regard the former President as lies. He described the former President’s comments as blatant lies compared to the facts available.
“The former President has told blatant lies. We have assembled relevant documents that prove that the former President lied and that, contrary to his claims, he has indeed been enjoying privileges due him. We did not want to share these private documents with the public, but they are already out there, so we will share them,” Richard Ahiagbah told journalists.
Earlier this week, in an exclusive interview with TV3, former President John Dramani Mahama revealed that he has been living on his monthly pensions paid to him by the state. According to the leader of the opposition NDC, he pays for his own utility bills as well as fuelling his own cars.
