A presidential staffer has taken a dig at Togbe Afede for not being invited to the final funeral rites of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Samuel Bryan Buabeng, who is a well-known Presidential staffer of the current administration, has described the Agbogbomefia of the Asoli traditional state as a local Championship who prides himself in irrelevant matters. In a tweet on his page, Samuel Bryan Buabeng stated that Togbe Afede had been reduced to fighting over Yam Festival gifts. “The local champion Efo James and his subjects should continue fighting people over Yam festival donations,” he wrote on Twitter.
Before ascending to the throne as the Agbogbomefia of the Asoli State, Togbe Afede was known in his private endeavours as James Akpo. Sitting as the Paramount Chief during the Yam Festival, which took place last week, Togbe Afede rejected gifts from the member of Parliament for Assin Central constituency, Hon Kennedy Agyapong, on the grounds that the outspoken MP had insulted him on several occasions.
The Presidential staffer was referring to the extended invitation which was delivered to Otumfuo and connected it to the lack of same for the Asoli traditional leader. Earlier this week, an invitation was delivered by the Protocol Directorate of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the British government on behalf of King Charles III to Otumfuo Osei Tutu to attend the lying-in-State of the late Queen Elizabeth in England on Monday.
