‘I Don’t Want Violence In My Campaign, Only A Civilized One’ – Kennedy Agyapong

Member of Parliament for the Assin Central constituency, Hon Kennedy Agyapong, has stated that he’s not interested in violence.

According to the member of Parliament who is aspiring to become the next flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party, he would engage in a civilised campaign ahead of the elections. Kennedy Agyapong noted that he does not encourage dirty politics as it is one of his greatest fears in life.

Speaking on the sidelines of a social event meant to whip up sentiments for his 2024 agenda, the MP called for a clean campaign from all parties who were contesting for the Flagbearer position. He also noted that he’s not going into the flagbearer contest to pave the way for another candidate, as many people have speculated. The MP assured his teeming supporters that he meant business with his intentions.

“What I don’t want is dirty politics. I am not going to do dirty politics. I will go to the people and tell them what I have done for the NPP and Ghanaians and for which reason they should vote for me. If NPP opens nominations, I will pick forms… those who pick forms and quit does he look like me? At 62 years, how can I declare my flagbearership ambitions in the NPP and quit? I am not quitting,” he added.

This statement by the MP would come as a surprise to many as hon Kennedy Agyapong has culled a name for himself for being a no-nonsense man in Ghanaian politics.
