‘No Cameroonian Player Will Play For Kotoko Again’ – Fontem Tingana

Kotoko are in search of new players as some of their star-striking players, such as Brazilian national Fabio Gama, left the team earlier this year.

But things seem to be heading south as the agent for former Kotoko striker Etouga Mbella has lashed out at the hierarchy of the club for how they have handled transfer matters. Fontem Tingana has threatened that he will not allow any Cameroonian player to join the Ghana Premier League in future.

He singled out Kotoko’s Chief Executive, Nana Yaw Amponsah, for being overly concerned about money. Fontem Tingana, who is clearly enraged by the sale of Etouga Mbella last season, notes that unless the current crop of leaders exits the club, no Cameroonian player will join the Porcupine Warriors in the foreseeable future.

“let (Kotoko) know that it is not all about money, relationship counts but unfortunately they have destroyed that beautiful relationship with AS Fortuna. Kotoko still owes them $10, 000. Based on this issue, no Cameronian player will join Kotoko unless this current crop of management of Kotoko is out of office.

Players and Club Presidents in Cameroon know that the CEO of Kotoko is acting more as an agent than a club CEO. The management at Kotoko is the poorest I have seen, no agent will accept what they are doing to their clients. I regret doing business with them,” he told Akoma Sports on Tuesday.
