Aisha Huang Loves Ghana – Effah Nkrabea Dartey

The lawyer for Aisha Huang, Effah Nkrabea Dartey has stated his client loves Ghana, and she wouldn’t want to go back to China for any reason.

Aisha Huang appeared in court earlier this week as her legal team sorted a bail application which was denied by an Accra High Court. Responding to questions from journalists after a dramatic turn out of proceedings, Capt. Rit. Effah Nkrabea Dartey revealed his client wanted to continue doing business in the country under a legal regime.

While berating the Judge’s decision not to grant her bail because she was a flight risk, Effah Nkrabea Dartey stated that Aisha Huang would love to remain in the country as she loves Ghana so much. He, however, noted that he would do anything within his legal power to ensure Aisha Huang and her accomplices get bail.

“My client is entitled to bail, and since this virtual hearing denied her bail, my colleague lawyers and are debating the next move, which is most likely to repeat the application and if it is turned down, we will head to the Court of Appeal. We will press on till we get the bail. Aisha Huang loves Ghana and wants to be in Ghana and continue doing business here. She has a family in Ghana. To say that she is a foreigner and is a flight risk is unfair” Effah Dartey is quoted to have said on Citi News.

Many Ghanaians remain sceptical about the State’s commitment to deal with Aisha Huang amidst the inconsistency of events leading to her re-arrest. Addressing this issue, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has stated that he’s convinced that the State has a strong case against the Chinese Kingpin. According to him, the information he has on the facts of the case the State has against Ms Huang gives him a strong conviction that she will be jailed.

“Aisha Huang has been arrested today. She is being prosecuted and she will be prosecuted under Ghanaian law in Ghanaian court if she is found guilty which I believe she should be found and I think I am not making prejudicial comments but I am saying that given the fact that I have, I am expecting that Aisha Huang will be found guilty, convicted and sentenced and thrown into Ghanaian jail,” he said.
