Blackstars captain Andrew Dede Ayew has stated that playing against Brazil is the ultimate test preparation the team needs to access their readiness level.
According to Dede Ayew, despite the quality of players the Brazilian national team parades, he was confident that the Blackstars of Ghana would perform. He explained that the Black Stars are ready to battle them in any way possible. He further stated that the arrival of certain players within the Blackstars setup had strengthened the team’s line-up, making it more formidable. Ayew was speaking at a press conference when he made his assessments of the team.
“Brazil currently, for me is the best in the world. So, we are playing the best, and we have to acknowledge that they have players playing in the top clubs, week-in, week-out, winning trophies. We are not going to compare ourselves to them. That will be making a mistake, but we are going to challenge and go into the battle; that’s 100%,” the Black Stars captain said.
The Blackstars will face the South American country in an international friendly tomorrow evening. Speaking ahead of the game, Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has revealed that every player within the team is fighting keenly for position ahead of tomorrow’s game.
“I’m happy obviously being with the team again. I hope that when I get the chance to play, I will score and make the country proud, so I’m just waiting for my opportunity again. Everyone is in good spirit; it’s a healthy competition; everyone is fighting for their spot. If you get that number 1 spot, you wanna take it, so that’s what I’m fighting for,” he told the GFA media team,” he added.
