The director of elections for the National Democratic Congress, the NDC has acknowledged the seemingly good works of the new appointed Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampaare and also asked him to open a full investigation into election misconduct and violence during 2020 general election. Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah is of the believe that the NDC were cheated by the incumbent during the election as there were cases of over voting in the Ashanti Region which according to him the Electoral Commission (EC) deliberately turned a blind eye to. Speaking in an interview on XYZ TV, the director of elections for the NDC pointed out how the IGP has earned a good name for himself and the entire police service for being up and doing and asked that they extend such up and doing nature into investigating into matters of the 2020 elections He said, "We want to remind Dampaare that we hailed him for arresting people who brandished guns. This case about someone who was arrested for chaos at an electoral centre must be followed up" "We want an update on that as well because if there is going to be chaos in this country it will be from elections and we do not want that to happen in future" he added "He has shown that he is proactive so this is his major test. He should investigate the 137 parliamentary documents, the NDC stalwart concluded.
